Open die screws are made by a forging technique called open die forging. As its name implies, the die was not completely closed during forging. • Carbon steel: chromium-molybdenum alloy steel (50B30, 60B30), medium carbon steel (SCM440/ 4140, SCM435, S35C, S45C, 1045, 1541), low carbon steel (1010, 1018, 10B21, S20C).
• Stainless steel: 300 series stainless steel (chromium-nickel austenitic) (304, 316), 400 series stainless steel (ferritic and martensitic) (410, 430).
• Copper: copper alloy, bronze alloy, silicon bronze alloy.
• Aluminum: 1070, 2024, 6061, etc.
